Ride the Rockies, a cycling event that can draw up to 2000 riders plus is asking Norwood to be a first time host on June 16, 2020. On that morning, riders will start in Cortez, go over Lizard Head Pass, ride thru Illium, down San Miguel Canyon, and up our beloved Norwood Hill and ride into Norwood. The ride that day alone will be 101 miles. The Town of Norwood is partnering with San Miguel County, Norwood Public Schools, Norwood Chamber to show the participants a warm, welcoming reception to the town we all love. The Town of Norwood will have a municipal election on Tuesday, April 7, 2020. At that time two trustee seats will be open. If you are interested in being on the Board of Trustees please pick up a nomination packet. They will be available to circulate starting Tuesday, January 7, 2020 and are due back in the office by 4:30 p.m. on Monday, January 27, 2020.
The Town of Norwood is having the 8th annual fireworks display on December 31, 2019 at 8pm . The display will be on Ralph Weaver’s field, north of the school. Thank you so much to Ralph for letting us use his field!
