The Great Outdoors Colorado (GOCO) board awarded the Town of Norwood a $170,073 grant to expand and improve the Norwood Town Park. The project was one of 14 selected for funding from a pool of 59, With the help of the GOCO grant, the town will add a 1000 sq. ft. splash pad and two regulation pickleball courts with fencing. Work will begin in April of 2018 and be completed by late August.
It’s meeting week starting the 8th of February for the Town Entities, and the agendas are full. NWC agenda has lots of information about the raw water, the town agenda is full with a new liquor license, a liquor renewal, a special event permit and talk about the upcoming municipal election. and the Sanitation District is business as usual. NSD meeting is on the 8th, NWC meeting is on the 13th, the Board of Trustees meeting is on the 14th. Please see the agendas under the appropriate dropdowns.
The deadline for the petitions to be turned in for the Town of Norwood municipal election on April 3rd has passed and the candidates are all set. There are two people running for mayor; C. Kieffer Parrino and John Dotson. The two trustee positions are unopposed with Candy Meehan the only one turning in a petition for her position and Kerry Welch the only one turning in a petition for her position. The election is a polling place election and will take place on April 3, 2018 from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Community Center.
