RIDE THE ROCKIES COMING TO NORWOOD ON JUNE 16, 2020, February 4, 2020
Ride the Rockies, a cycling event that can draw up to 2000 riders plus is asking Norwood to be a first time host on June 16, 2020. On that morning, riders will start in Cortez, go over Lizard Head Pass, ride thru Illium, down San Miguel Canyon, and up our beloved Norwood Hill and ride into Norwood. The ride that day alone will be 101 miles. The Town of Norwood is partnering with San Miguel County, Norwood Public Schools, Norwood Chamber to show the participants a warm, welcoming reception to the town we all love. We are proud of our town and welcome the riders to the “best kept secret” in Colorado. If anyone would like to offer housing please call Gretchen Wells at 970-327-4288.
